    He was born to Robert Darwin and Susannah Darwin at the Mount in Shrewsbury, is Shropshire, England. He was always very curious about marine life and insects.
  • Attends University of Edinburgh in Scotland

    Charles's father wanted him to attend medical school, but he did not like blood. He joined the Plinian Society and attended their scientific debates. He leaned about examinations based on natural causes. He left medical school in 1827.
  • Attends the University of Cambridge

    After leaving medical school, he enrolled in Christ's College for a Bachelor of Arts degree.

    Married Emma Wedgewood
    They were married at St. Peters Anglican Church. It turns out they were cousins. They had different views on religion so they had some issues early on in their marriage.

    This was the explanation of the development of coral reefs based off of what Charles has learned during the Beagle Voyage.
  • Natural Selection Theory Published

    Natural Selection Theory Published
    Charles wrote The Origin of Species by Natural Selection. There were initially 1,250 copies printed on 22 Nov 1859. The theory presented evidence that populations evolve over the course of generations through natural selection.   • Received an Honorary Doctorate of Law From Cambridge University

    He died in Down, Kent. He was buried in Westminster Abbey at the request of his colleagues.
