  • Charles Darwin is born

    Charles Darwin was born to a wealthy family ( his grandfathers included,Josiah Wedgewood and Erasmus Darwin) in mt Shrewsbury,Shropshire,England he is the son of Robert Darwin and Susannah Wedgewood.

    Charles attends school in Shrewsbury and it was ran by George Case, who was a Unitarian minister, while he was in school at this time his mother Susannah had passed while he was very young,only 8 years old at the time.

    Charles is taken out of school early by his father for having poor grades and that Darwin had no plan on what to do in his life and he will be a disgrace to himself and his family, Darwin was much more interested in bugs

    Darwin registered for medical courses at the University of Edinburgh while him and his brother enrolled
  • met Robert grant

    Darwin met Dr. Robert Grant and thats how he learned to examine marine animals. Then on November 10th he decided to join the Plinian society thats a club about natural science for teachers and students and he was very active in it
  • Darwins first speech

    Darwins first scientific speech was at the plinian society, a club for students and teachers who were interested in natural history and it was founded by professor Robert Jameson in 1823. Darwin was elected a member on November 28th 1826. he went to 18 out of 19 meetings and participated in discussion.

    Darwin spent a 6 year voyage around the world and darwin started to notice that the world seemed a lot older than everyone had thought. he had many notes about what he found, especially at the Galapagos islands

    the Beagle voyage has ended and they returned home and Darwin became very interested in evolution and natural selection and he began studying it a lot

    Darwin develops his very first theory for natural selection, he worked on the dilemma of how species would evolve over time and end up being different, he eventually bred plants to figure out his theories. his ideas were very controversial so he delayed publishing them and it wasn't until another Naturalist published his ideas that darwin did the same.

    Charles Darwin passes away at the age of 73. by the time he died his ideas and theories became very accepted by the science and non religious community. he got a state burial at Westminster abbey
