Education
Darwin attended Edinburgh University 1825 to initially study medicine but after consideration Darwin determined medicine did not interest him. in 1828 he entered Christ's College to become a minister but soon changed his field of study again to pursue the study of plants. The Beagle voyage
The Beagle voyage was the invitation extended too Darwin to be the HMS Beagle's naturalist for a trip around the world.The voyage, lasted five years and was the determining event in Darwin's life giving him the opportunity to contemplate all his observations of fossils, animals, plants, geology, and other specimens. On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection
Darwin publishes his theory of evolution which he addresses the origin of the human species through evolution and natural selection. Darwin's descent with modification idea is that species change over time, give rise to new species. The method by which species evolve is through natural selection where stronger traits adapt to their environment. Darwin's theory of evolution is considered to be the foundation of evolutionary studies and allowed a paradigm shift in the scientific community. -
The death of Charles Darwin
