    +2; The first refrigerator for home use was invented. This was a time of progress because the use of refrigerators meant that food would keep longer. This meant that less people would get sick from bad food.

    Women Were Allowed to Work in Factories
    +2; During the first world war (1914-1918), women were the only people around to work in the factories. Because all the men eligible were at war, women made a place for themselves in factory jobs.
