Cameron's Life Time Moments

    Born
Today was the day I was born. At 2:37 Northern Westchester Hospital, brought into this world by my parents, Laurie and Corey, on April 26, 2001. I was given life by the hands of God, and immediately served a purpose. I value the life I was given, living everyday like it is my last, refusing to slow down.

From the moment of birth, my parents had high expectations of their son.
They vowed to kindle a home grown superstar; and everyday I make sure to appreciate that.

    No regrets. No shortages.

    Cameron Hart's Personal Timeline

Here is a timeline highlighting meaningful and personal events throughout my life span.
  • Picking Up a Basketball For the First Time

Picking Up a Basketball For the First Time
Ball truly is life, because it became mine as soon as I picked up a basketball.

The first time I picked up a basketball I was 4 years old, and a ball has been in or around my hands since. Picking up a basketball was like picking up a missing piece of my heart, my life, my soul.

My parents even knew basketball would consume me. Soon, I was playing at the Mount Kisco Boys and Girls Club, then CYO, then school ball: modified for two years, jv, then varsity basketball ever since. I'm blessed.
  • I Found Out I Had an Egg Allergy

I Found Out I Had an Egg Allergy
I've always wanted to try eggs, but that's most likely not going to happen.

One winter, I was making gingerbread houses with my mother. At my age (four) everything appealed to me, including icing. Quickly, and easily, tempted, I scooped some icing with my finger, and sucked it clean off, in delight.
What was a a fulfilling treat, became a painful toxin.

Shortly, my lips swelled, then I couldn't breathe - I blacked out.
Later, I woke up to the doctors' voice: "Your son is allergic to eggs."
  • Shopping Cart Disaster

    Shopping Cart Disaster
The grocery store was one of my favorite places to be because while my mom shopped, I enjoyed hanging off the side of the shopping cart.
One time, my mom parked us next to the produce section, and decided to get some strawberries. I climbed onto to side of the cart - a usual thing - but this time was different. Slowly, the cart flipped over, and landed on my face, piercing the bridge of my nose. I was branded with naiveté, but the scar remains a part of my identity today, and my funniest flaw.
  • My First Roller Coaster Ride

    My First Roller Coaster Ride
If there is one thing I love, it's roller coasters, and I rode my first one when I was five. I remember it, clear as day.
I decided to experience the ultimate thrill for the first time in Sesame Place in Pennsylvania. Of course, I chose the biggest attraction in the park: the Vapor Trail.

Trembling, I rode the goliath, fearlessly. It was my first real sense of thrill, danger, and growing up all in one.

Riding roller coasters remains one of my favorite past times, and it explains my life.
  • I Discovered the F Word

    I Discovered the F Word
I mark today the day that I lost my innocence.
As I was standing on the lunch line, all reared up to get some chicken nuggets, my "friend" approached me, with a grim smirk on his face. He had something to tell me.
"Guess what I just learned, Cameron?"
We just had class together, so I figured it was something either educational, childish, or clever. But, unfortunately, I was terribly mistaken.
"There are these things called curse words..."
"Curse words? Wait what are-- "
    Listen to this one...
  • My First Kiss

    My First Kiss
Most people experience their first kiss in middle school, or high school. But for me, it came at the start of second grade - on the bus. I honestly didn't think I'd turn out to be a ladies man, especially not so young.
Kissing was a foreign concept to me, but it was for the girl as well, so I figured I'd give it a try. I puckered up, still not sure of how to execute this monumental occasion, and closed my eyes.
    Muah
It was done and it felt good. I kissed a girl. I lost my kissing virginity.
  • I Got a Buddy

    I Got a Buddy
Christmas, 2010, I was given a true best friend. This was the year I got my dog, Buddy. This is marked as one of the happiest moments of my life because I finally got something I wanted for Christmas.
He was as white as snow, and the cutest dog I've ever seen.
Quickly, my new dog became my new friend. I named him Buddy because that was the only name he positively responded to.
My dog is the only one who truly listens to me, knows all my secrets, my wrongdoings, my character, and who I trust.
  • My "I Have a Dream" Speech

My "I Have a Dream" Speech
At the end of 7th grade, I decided to run for class president. With Barack Obama in office, I was inspired to give politics a try. It was an unfamiliar concept, but I had the perfect idea to win over the crowd. I decided I'd quote Martin Luther King Jr. in my election speech, claiming "'I had a dream' to be president."
When I pulled it off, the crowd went wild, giving me a wild standing ovation. The reception the crowd gave me was overwhelming; and even more so when I was named President.
  • My Confirmation

    My Confirmation
Religion has always been a big part of my life, so being confirmed into the Catholic Faith in 8th grade was a big step for me. I flew in my Godfather all the way from Texas to come be my sponsor, and the church had the Bishop come and execute the confirmation.

It was a long day, but a memorable one because I officially accepted the responsibility of catholicism for my own, and took a major step towards "paradise". Similarly, it was a sacrament I've done that I was fully aware of to remember.
  • I Made the Varsity Basketball Team

I Made the Varsity Basketball Team
Sophomore year, I made the Brewster Varsity Basketball Team, & I was ecstatic. Basketball had been my lifestyle, so I worked extremely hard to make the squad. I spent mornings, nights, summers training to eventually make the team. It was my dream.
Despite all the preparation, tryouts were some of the most nerve wracking moments of my life. I was confident in my abilities, yet terrified at the same time. It felt like my life depended on making the team, so once I did, my life felt complete.
  • Hairspray

    Hairspray
The summer of 2017 was when I starred in my first play as Seaweed in Hairspray. For me, this was something completely new and completely out of my comfort zone. As an athlete, never in a million years did I think I'd do a play. But, with a lead black role available for the taking, and some encouragement from my friends, I thought I'd give it a try.
Participating in the production ended up being one of the my proudest moments. I loved it: the thrill, unfamiliarity, the challenge - everything.
