    • Wiglaf - Helps Beowulf in the fight against the dragon while all the other soldiers ran away.

    Unferth met with Beowulf before his journey and he gave him his sword hrunting with an apology Beowulf takes the sword with him to battle after the first strike he found out that he is unable to cut the skin of the beast. He takes a sword from the wall that was made from giants. He was able to defeat her with the sword.

    After Beowulf Defeats Grendel's Mother he returns with Grendel's head and the hilt of the Giants sword. Beowulf returning to herot put Grendel's head on the table where the king and the queen were drinking and eating.

    Beowulf's Last Speech
    Beowulf says that he would use no sword or weapon if the monster could be killed without it, but he explains that his breath will be burning hot fire pouring from his tongue. That he feels no shame with a shield and sword in hand. He talks as if it is his last battle and that he is not feeling to lucky with this battle.

    Beowulf went straight into the battle with courageous thoughts. No coward could ever stand where Beowulf was. He put his shield in front of him, it held for awhile but then the shield began to melt. At this moment Beowulf knew that for the first time he would be fighting with fate against him.

    Wiglaf joins the Battle
    Beowulf starts losing the battle and when the other soldiers see this they decide to run. But Wiglaf runs into save Beowulf and help him defeat the dragon together. He says that he'd rather burn than to see flames swirling around his lord.

    Wiglaf went into the castle that the dragon was protecting. Beowulf was able to land the finishing blow with his dagger. After wiglaf went in he saw tons of gold and a glorious banner made with the best threads. He quickly returned to Beowulf and he wanted all of his men to share these riches

    He asks Wiglaf to bring some of the dragon's treasure to the surface to show him his fortune before he dies.Having gazed on the treasure and given his golden necklace, gold covered helmet, chain-mail, and his rings to Wiglaf, Beowulf dies

    The Geats burn Beowulf's body in a funeral pyre, then built a tower. Strong and tall for all sailors around could see it. The Geats sealed his ashes away in the walls of the tower.
