  • Battle of Moscow

    Fought from October 1941 to January 1942, this battle should have been a cake walk for the Germans. However, the harsh weather conditions and low supplies of the army significantly wore down the forces. The road conditions took down 40% of German trucks. By the time the German Infantry came within 200 miles of Moscow, the army was significantly ill,famished and weak. The Soviet Army was then able to defend themselves and therefore win the battle.
  • Battle of Pearl Harbor

    Fought on December 7th, 1941, Pearl Harbor was an attack by the Japanese on the United States. The Japanese sunk 4 US battleships and the rest were severely damaged. This resulted in over 2,400 American deaths and over 1,000 injured. Afterwards, the US was entered into WWII and declared war on Japan.
  • Battle of Stalingrad

    This war was fought between July 1942 and February 1943 and is considered the turning point of WWII. The German army suffered many losses. While much of the German army was already gone,headed to another attack, Hitler declared an attack on a major soviet city with other troops. While this wasn't a very smart call on Germany's end, historians believe that this attack was declared by Hitler solely because of his hatred of Stalin, who was a big part of the city's culture.
  • Battle of Midway

    Fought between June 4 and 7, The Battle of Midway was an attack by the Japanese on the US to eliminate them as a world power. The Japanese outnumbered the US 2 to 1 but their attack failed for a couple of reasons.First, the United States was able to figure out the date and location Japan planned to attack, giving them the upper hand. Secondly, Japan misread the United States mindset in a number of ways. This battle resulted in a royal victory for the United States, declaring them an ally.
  • Battle of Kursk

    The Battle of Kursk was fought between the German and Soviet forces from July to August, 450 kilometers southwest of Moscow. The Battle of Kursk was an unsuccessful attempt by the German to take control of Soviet forces and in the process the German army lost a huge number of men and tanks
  • Battle of Berlin

    The Battle of Berlin was fought from April to May in 1945. The Red army marched 60 kilometers east of Berlin. The Germans had a defense plan but were attacked from the East and the South by the Red Army and another force from the North. The Soviet Army successfully circled the city and started making advances in. Hitler and many followers committed suicide before the battle was over. After this battle the war ended in Europe.
