    The 1986 World Series winning Mets team was infamous amongst the baseball community. They were a group of hard partying, drug addict, drunkards who were loud, obnoxious, and unashamed. They celebrated at every opportunity, and without holding back. They once partied so hard that they caused $7,500 dollars worth of damage in one go. They were hated by anyone who wasn't a Mets fan. They showed their emotions on and off the field, and yet they were beloved by the city of New York.

    Pete Rose, the Cincinnati Reds manager, is suspended for 30 days, and is fined $10,000 for a fight with an umpire. This is one of the early major displays of emotion in baseball. It is not only controversial, but also very costly to the Reds.

    During a regular season game, a Rays pitcher threw a pitch at Red Sox player, Coco Crisp. Crisp then took a step towards first base, and charged the mound. Punches were thrown, and a major fight ensued. Several players were ejected from the game, including Crisp. This fight was the result of a longstanding rivalry between the two teams. Crisp was only suspended for 7 games, what is now considered to be a very short suspension.

    Corey Seager yells with all his might in celebration of a game tying home run in the 9th inning of Game 1 of the 2023 World Series. Seager also stood and watched the home run, a celebration that would have had fans up in arms had he done it just 30 years earlier. This new acceptance of emotion and celebration has led to a more entertaining and exciting game for modern day baseball.
