Yom Kippur War
Egypt and Syria were determined to win back their land that Israel took from them so they began this war. The war led to the Camp David accords. -
Camp David Accords
The Egyptian president wanted peace with Israel and also wanted the land back that Israel seized. With the help of the United States, Egypt recognized Israel as a country and Israel returned the Sinai Peninsula. -
Intifada
Palestinian resentment of Israeli occupation led to a rebellion known as the intifada. the Oslo Accords ended the rebellion, but the permanent agreement was not signed. -
Second intifada
Since the permanent agreement was not signed, extremists on both sides led violent attacks on each other. In 2004, the Palestinian leader died and Israel also withdrew from Gaza and parts of the West Bank.
