    Apollo Mission 61-75
  • Apollo 1

    Apollo 1
The Apollo 1 crew consisted of Roger Chaffee, Ed White and Gus Grissom. It was the first manned Apollo mission, but it was a preflight test that sadly ended 3 lives on the spacecraft. It was, really, scheduled to be for February 21st 1967. It wasn't a successful mission and in the capsule, a fire swept through the command module. More information on mission: Apollo 1
  • Apollo 4

Apollo 4, also known as the unmanned Saturn mission, was the first unmanned mission using the Saturn V launch vehicle. The objective of this mission was to test all areas of the Saturn V launch vehicle and return pictures of the Earth. The mission was successful.
  • Apollo 5

    Apollo 5
Apollo 5, also known as the unmanned Saturn was a test flight for the Lunar Module. The objective of this mission confirm the ascent and descent stages, the propulsion systems, and the restart operations, and to evaluate the spacecraft structure. The mission was successful. Mission Objectives: Apollo 5
  • Apollo 6

    Apollo 6
Apollo 6 was the final unmanned mission. The objectives of the mission were to demonstrate structural of the launch vehicle and spacecraft and confirm launch loads. There were many more objectives than this, however. Three major problems occurred, but the mission was still successful and the spacecraft returned in good condition. Mission Objectives: Apollo 6
  • Apollo 7

    Apollo 7
Apollo 7 was the first manned test flight. The objective of this mission was to demonstrate command and service module and crew performance. Demonstrate crew, space vehicle and mission support facilities performance during the crewed mission. The mission was successful.
    Mission Objectives: Apollo 7
  • Apollo 8

    Apollo 8
Apollo 8 was the second manned spaceflight. The objectives of this mission mainly included a coordinated performance of the crew, such as the command and service module. All the missions were achieved and everything performed according to plan. The mission was successful overall. Mission Objectives: Apollo 8
  • Apollo 9

    Apollo 9
Apollo 9 was the third manned mission. It was an Earth-orbital engineering test of the first crewed lunar module. The objective of this mission was to demonstrate crew, space vehicle and mission support facilities performance. New first achievements were made as it was the first unmanned demonstration of lunar module systems performance. All objectives were met, so the mission was successful. Mission Objectives: Apollo 9
  • Apollo 10

    Apollo 10
Apollo 10 was the fourth manned mission. The objective of this mission was to demonstrate the crew, space vehicle and the mission support facilities during a manned lunar mission. There were many more objectives, but they were all achieved. This mission was deemed successful. Click link to see all mission objectives: Mission Objectives: Apollo 10
  • Apollo 11

    Apollo 11
Apollo 11 was the fifth manned mission but the first manned mission to land on the moon. Two humans step foot on the moon: Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.
The sole objective of this mission was to land men on the surface of the moon and return safely back to Earth. There were other minor objectives also. All objectives were achieved, and the mission was deemed successful. Mission Objectives: Apollo 11
  • Apollo 12

    Apollo 12
Apollo 12 was the sixth manned mission but the second manned mission to land on the moon. The sole objective of this mission was to explore the moon. There were other mission objectives, most were achieved but a few weren't. Overall the mission was successful. Mission Objectives: Apollo 12
  • Apollo 13

    Apollo 13
The Apollo 13 crew included James A. Lovell, John L. Swigert and Fred W. Haise. Apollo was supposedly the third mission to land on the moon. However, one of the oxygen tanks crippled the spacecraft during the flight, forcing the crew orbit the Moon and return to the moon. There were many more minor objectives to be achieved, but unfortunately this didn't happen. The mission was unsuccessful. Mission Objectives: Apollo 13
  • Apollo 14

    Apollo 14
Apollo 14 was the seventh manned mission. The main objective of this mission were observing the surface of the moon, lunar orbital science and operational/ engineering. There were other objectives but one was not achieved and two were partially achieved. Overall the mission was successful Mission Objectives: Apollo 14
  • Apollo 15

    Apollo 15
Apollo 15 was the ninth manned mission. It was the first manned mission made to explore the moon over a great period of time with more advanced instruments for the collection of scientific data. The main objective was that the astronauts were to explore the geology of the Hadley Rille/ Apennien Region. There were other minor objectives, but they were all acheived. The mission was successful. Mission Objectives: Apollo 15
  • Apollo 16

    Apollo 16
Apollo was the tenth manned mission. The main objectives of this mission were to conduct tasks in the Descartes Region, emplace and activate surface experiments, and finally to take photographs and do experiments. There were more objectives. Most were achieved, but some were either partially achieved or not achieved. However, the mission was successful. Mission Objectives: Apollo 16
  • Apollo 17

    Apollo 17
Apollo 17 was the final mission of NASA's Apollo Program. The basic objectives of this mission were to sample basin-rim highland material and adjacent material, investigate the geological evolutionary relationship between the two major units. More objectives were set. Most objectives were achieved, but one was partially achieved. Nonetheless, the mission was successful. Mission Objectives: Apollo 17
