    Description: At the Potsdam Conference the allied divided Germany into four sections (Southwest, Northwest, South, and East).
    Cause: To keep Germany's power in check by introducing foreign military presence in each zone.

    Containment: No, this idea didn't occur until 1947.
    Capitalism/Communism: Both b/c capitalist and communist countries got German territory.

  • Berlin Blockade and Airlift

    Berlin Blockade and Airlift
    Description: The Soviets formed a blockade around Berlin and eventually the U.S. airlifted supplies to Berlin with British pilots.
    Cause:The soviets were blocking all other entrance ways into the city so in order to offer supplies the U.S. was forced to fly them in.

    Containment: Yes, bc Soviet Union left Germany
