The battle of Imphal began in northeast India.
The battle of Imphal took place in northeast India form March to July 1944. The japanese army tried to take over India but they got pushed back in the southeast with heavy losses. The allies won the battle and pushed back the japanese army. -
The failed attempt to assasinate Hitler.
The german officer Eberhard von Breitenbuch brougth a pistol to military briefing to kill Hitler. The attempt failed because he wasn't accepted in the room when the briefing was being held. -
Operation Margarethe
Hitler ordered Operation Margarethe, which meant the Nazi forces would take over Hungary. The hungarian Prime Minister Miklos Kallay did a secret deal with the allies. Hitler invaded Hungary so they would not turn against them. -

She talks about how Margot is sweet and she would like her to trust her more and she loves talking to Peter. -
Submarine U-575
German submarine U-575 was sunk in the Atlantic Ocean by Allied ships and aircrafts. The submarine built in 1940 sank more than 12 boats which 7 of them were british. -
Food problems(Entry 3)
They can not eat (for breakfast) fried potatoes anymore, the now eat porridge. They don't have any scrap of fat:butter, margarine, etc. -
The batlle of Monte Cassino
During the battle of Monte Cassino, the Allies dropped 992 tons of bombs on Monte Cassino's Monastery and fired 150,000 rounds of artillery. British, Indian and New Zealand forces tried to storm the building but were unable to dislodge the Germans that were hiding in it. -
They are sick.(Entry 4)
Anne talks about the people who are sick in the secret annexe:Elli as a streaming cold, Miep is not recovered from her flu yet and Koophuis has had such a bad stomach hemorrhage that he lost consciousness -
Feelings(Entry 5)
She talks about her inner feelings: she is sad because she would like a room like peter were he can dream, sleep, read and write by himself. She is not happy with the room she shares, she has to go in the attic to have some privacy to write.
