Mickey & Minnie Mouse
The short film "Steamboat Willie" was the debut of Mickey Mouse and his girlfriend, Minnie Mouse. It was one of the first animations to have sound and in 1994, animators voted "Steamboat Willie" 13th place in the book "The 50 Greatest Cartoons". Silly Symphonies
Walt Disney's Silly Symphonies was a series of 75 animated short films that were intended as whimsical pieces of music. Although the animations did not contain continuing characters, like Mickey or Minnie, however they did introduce Donald Duck. Built by William Garity (At Disney Studio's), the Multiplane Camera is a motion picture camera that moves pieces of artwork past a camera at various speeds for various distances resulting in a 3D effect. This camera was used to create Snow White, Bambi, Alice in Wonderland, and many other films

Bambi
In 1933, Sidney Franklin, a director and producer, tried to animate Bambi but he considered the task to be complicated, so he sold the rights to Walt Disney. Disney and his animators were faced with the difficult task of animating a realistic looking deer. But eventually Disney was able to help encourage his animators by setting up a mini zoo in the studio

Marry Poppins
According to some sites, Disney's daughters were in love with the book version of Marry Poppins and he promised to make a film version. But issues came up with up when the belief that Disney couldn't do live-action films, but he pursued the film. Marry Poppins was later nominated for the 13th Academy Awards
