Earliest use of stop-motion animation
"Fun in a bakery shop" was one of the earliest recorded films to use stop-motion animation. It came from the Edison Company film. This film lead the way for many future films and the development of animation. -
First puppet animated film

Walt Disney began
In 1923 a company called Laugh-O-Grams went bankrupt. The owner, Walt Disney opened a new studio in Los Angeles that year and began making the Alice Comedies series where the main character interacted with other characters. -
Warner Brothers Cartoons
In 1933 Warner Brothers Cartoons was founded. Disney was famous at the time but al films released were strictly controlled by Walt Disney. In Warner Brothers Cartoons, the animators were given more freedom. -

First fully CGI animate G rated film (Toy Story)
Toy Story was released by Walt Disney on November 19, 1995. It was the first full length CGI animated film with a G rating. It was very popular and earned lots of money. Disney/Pixar went on to make more of these movies. -
First Flash animated film
Wizards and Giants was a Spanish movie released on November 19, 2003 as Magos y Gigantes. It was the first theatrically released animation film made using Adobe Flash. It was also the first Mexican animated film in 30 years. -
Computer generated imagery advances in Disney
"Paperman," a movie by Disney was released on November 2, 2012. Computer generated imagery had already been widely used in many productions and films but Disney took a step further. Disney used 2D images and warped them to look 3D.
