  • Proclamation of 1763

    The proclamation caused it so no one was able to move west of the Appalachians after the French and Indian War causing issues in their trade along with causing anyone who did live west of them to move east
  • Sugar Act

    This caused the decrease on the taxes put on molasses, trying to fool the colonists to pay a low tax instead of smuggling
  • Stamp Act

    The Parliament placed taxes on any printed material and would stamp it once paid
  • Sons of Liberty

    The sons of liberty formed as an organization to work against the British Parliament. It spread with leaders from all thirteen colonies including: Joseph Warren, Paul Revere, John Hancock, Samuel Adams, John Adams, Benedict Arnold, James Otis, Patrick Henry, and John Holt.
  • Declatory Act

    An act to go along with the repeal of the stamp act, further polishing the sugar act
  • Townshend Revenue Act

    The Townshend Acts made it so the taxes were only on the most important necessities to the colonists such as tea and paper
  • Boston Massacre

    A fight came about after the royal governor wouldn’t allow the tea ships to leave that had been sent to the colonies. Which then resulted in disguised men who came onboard to throw off huge crates that were filled with tea. Because of the sugar taxes along with the boycott of all english goods. This occured where the first Americans were also killed.
  • Tea Act

    There was no imposement on taxes in this situation but was when the failing East India Company shipped their tea to the colonies and sold for a bargain to help them retain stability in their establishment
  • Boston Tea Party

  • Intolerable Acts

    Through 3/31/74-6/22/74 these acts were passed by the parliament to punish the Massachusetts colonies for what had happened because of the Boston Tea Party
  • Coercive Acts

    The British government got fed up with the colonies so they create the harsh laws as to punish the colonists. The act also made it so the people would have to pay back all costs gathered due to the ruined tea via Boston Tea Party. The Boston port was then closed so that incoming goods were no longer available to the people.
  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    The redcoats and minutemen clashed close to Lexington which was east of Concord. The battle resulted in the continuous shots of fire and finally eight minutemen lay dead. By the time the redcoats reached Boston however, due to the militia’s strong comeback around 70 were dead while 174 still. wounded. This also then featured the famous "shot heard 'round the world."
  • Seizing of Fort Ticonderoga

    Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain boys had created around a four hundred mob to capture the British in shock. Which ended in Fort Ticonderoga’s surrender on the same day of May 10th.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    The rebels were suppose to go to Bunker Hill to bombard the British’s ships and towns built up. Instead they ended up at Breed’s Hill close to where the British were hiding out. The next morning after the rebels fought off two waves of the 2,300 British men during the third wave after running low on ammunition they were finally defeated.
  • "Common Sense"

    A warning posted by Thomas Paine about how if the colonies don't start rebelling against the hold that the Parliament has on them it will only get worse with time.
  • Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration was finally adopted after time of discussion and revision. Thomas Jefferson was the first to draft the original edition of this work. The piece goes on to explain the three most important unalienable rights of: life, liberty, and and pursuit of happiness.
  • Battle of Long Island

    This was a hard fought battle for the Americans. Surrounded by the British, under general Howe's rule, trenches were dug all around the Americans hideout. Most of the American men were able to escape and row away however leaving the end still unanswered.
  • Battle of Harlem Heights

    Washington led his generals to lure out the British for battle in Harlem Heights. The Americans had ended up winning the battle restoring their confidence and faith in the continous revolution.
  • Valley Forge

    Valley Forge was basically a refuge place Washington put some of his men to keep them dedicated. They came out stronger than ever and more powerful to fight in the revolution.
  • Saratoga

    British and Hessian groups surrender to the American along with their French allies. The Brits had attempted to seige the Americans with three different routes led by: General Howe, Burgoyne, and St. Leger. This had been the main turning point in the Revolution for the Americans who started to gain confidence in their struggle.
  • Battle of Charleston

    Horribly ended battle for the Ameericans. This battle is considered one of the worst defeats near the end of the Revolution. The Americans suffered from many of their men being captured until Lincoln finally surrended to their leaders: Cornwallis, Henry Clinton, and Arbuthnot.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Cornwallis's men were forced to surrender in this tough fought battle. They had little to no food, ammunition, and ect forcing them into their ending situation. Quickly following this the Treaty of Paris was then signed declaring peace and independence of the colonies from Britain.
