  • The Proclamation of 1763

    The Proclamation of 1763
    This document stated that no colonies were allowed to be stationed west of the Appalachian Mountains. The colonists agreed to this to respect the civilizations beyond the mountains.
  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
    This was an act of taxation on sugar and molasses to the rich people. It existed before 1764, but until then it started being enforced. The wealthy colonists did not take the act well.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    This was an act of taxation for all people on paper items like: documents, cards, cigars, and newspapers. None of the colonists liked this act.
  • The Repealed Stamp Act

    The Repealed Stamp Act
    This declaratory act put the stamp act back into action, making all people pay for paper items. It was passed by the British parliament and the colonists were not happy.

    The Boston Massacre
    One night, an angry mob surrounded few British soldiers provoking and attacking them causing five to be shot and killed.

    In a fit of rage and anger, multiple colonists dump over $1 million dollars worth of tea into the Boston Harbor. Colonists did this because of the tea act.

    The Intolerable Acts were laws passed by the British Parliament, following the Boston Tea Party. These laws were meant to punish the colonists involved in dumping the tea.

    This was a convention of the delegates of the 13 colonies. It started the meeting in Philadelphia in the spring of 1775.

    This was the first military engagement of the Revolutionary War. "The shot heard around the world" set off this battle because nobody knows who fired the first shot.

    This was a descriptive and fancy letter to the King. It summarizes on how we want independence from Britain and their protection. Thomas Jefferson was told to write it but a group of 5 were assigned to make it.

    Battle of Saratoga
    This was a battle fought eighteen days in the fall of 1777. General John Burgoyne won this battle.
  • The Battle of Valley Forge

    The Battle of Valley Forge
    This battle took place in the winter of 1777 through 1778 and was a low point for the Americans. Many died from the disease and blistering cold but continued on.
  • The Battle of Yorktown

    The Battle of Yorktown
    In this battle, the Americans successfully beat the British with the help of the French. With the British defeated, this was the last major battle in the war.
