The Colonists were about to lose the war but decided to stay out the winter at Valley Forge. This is because instead of going back and not coming back, the men were forced to stay in the war until there time was up. The Battle of Saratoga was a very important turning point in the American Revolution because this was when the French signed the peace treaty with the Americans. The Battle of Yorktown was the last battle of the American Revolution and it was a very strategized battle by the Americans. One night George Washington came up with a plan to put trenches surrounding the British base of Yorktown, so that none could come in and no one could come out. This resulted in the Patriot victory.
