  • Jamestown was founded: Jamestown was America's first permanent settlement.

  • The first legislative government was made, the first slaves got to America, and the first families got to Jamestown.

  • Pilgrims land at Plymouth Rock and it’s America’s first colony to be for religion.

  • Puritans came to Massachusetts: The first large wave of immigrants came to America bringing a unique perspective on life.

  • Anne Hutchinson was banished from Massachusetts for her religious views. She then founded Rhode Island.

  • King William's War: This was the beginning of the hostilities between the Native Americans, the Colonists, The British, and the French.

  • Salem Witch Trials show that America is susceptible to mass hysteria.

  • The French and Indian War (a.k.a. The 7 Years War) War between French and British with Native tribes on both sides. Fought over land and trade that would result in France losing land and English in serious debt.

  • Americans were taxed for stamps without being able to vote

  • The Boston Massacre: tension between the colonies and the British become violent.

  • The boston tea party: Americans were so upset by the tea act on 1773 that they destroyed a shipload of tea.

  • The shot heard around the world and the battle of Lexington and concord

  • The declaration of independence was signed.

  • The United States create their own form of government.

  • Thomas Jefferson bought the Louisiana territory from France and almost doubled the size of the United States

  • War between Britain and the US lasting for almost 3 years over trade and naval restrictions.

  • The underground railroad was established and it was a network of secret routes and safe houses to help slaves escape to freedom up north.

  • Samuel Morse sends the first telegraph message which changes communication for the entire world allowing information to spread quickly and easily.

  • Abraham Lincoln was elected for president and shortly after his election the confederate states secede from the union starting the civil war.

  • Abraham Lincoln was elected as president

    Abram Lincoln was elected president so he could stop slavery. He was from the northern part of the country, and the southern states didn't want the new president to make laws that would affect them.
  • South Carolina Secedes from the United States

    South Carolina was the first state to leave the United States so they could make their own country so they wouldn't have to be part of the United States. A few months later most of the other southern states would leave the Union.
  • The Confederation is formed

    All the southern states that seceded from the United States become the Confederate States of America and Jefferson Davis is their president.
  • The Civil War Begins

    Confederate forces attacked Fort Sumter, which was a fort held by the Union, and the Civil War started.
  • The battle of Gettysburg was the largest civil war battle and was a turning point of the war, leading to a Union victory.

  • The Emancipation Proclamation

    Abraham Lincoln orders all slaves to be freed.
  • The Battle of Gettysburg

    The Battle of Gettysburg was a big battle where the Union wins the battle and starts to win the entire war.
  • End of the Civil War

    The Union wins the Civil Way after general Robert E. Lee surrenders to Ulysses S. Grant.
  • Lincoln was assassinated 5 days after Robert E. Lee surrendered and ended the civil war.

  • The first car, the Model T, was built by Henry Ford with assembly lines and was known as the Second Industrial Revolution, witch revolutionizes American industry.

  • The stock market crashed and that was the start of the Great Depression, and a lot of people lost their jobs. It was bad for everyone in the USA and the government tried to stop the depression.

  • Japan exploded Pearl Harbor and that dragged the US into World War 2

  • The US drops two atomic bombs on Japan and ended World War 2 and after that started the cold war.

  • Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus and starts the civil rights movement. In 1964 the Civil Rights Legislation is passed and 4 years later Martin Luther King got assassinated.

  • Humans were landed on the moon. It took over a decade and there were six manned US missions with a total of 12 people over the course of 3 years.

  • The Berlin Wall was torn down and that was the end of the cold war. It had lasted for 40 years.
