Amberly Ngo's Life

  • Period: to

    Birthdate to Present

Includes events from childhood to 9th Grade high school life
  • Trip to China

I love to travel, so this was an awesome trip. This was also my first out of the country trip. The plane ride was unbearable, but everything else made it worth it. I was able to go back and experience my own culture and learn more about the history of China. Climbing the steps of the Great Wall nearly half as big as me was tiring, but sites at the top were amazing.
  • I Break my Right Leg

On a road trip back from Yellowstone National Park, I slip in the bathroom of a motel and my weakened bones from a cyst cause the break. In the course of recovery, my mom was always there to take care of me. I was really grateful for that because she put up with all my frustrations of not being able to walk and enjoy the rest of my summer. Admittedly, however, it was sort of fun to sit in a wheelchair.
  • Pet Dog, Rocky, Passes Away

I greatly regretted the times I neglected to be with him. I was devastated when he passed away. I remember constantly telling myself to go outside and play with him, but then I chose to go on the computer instead. His death made me realize and cherish the moments I had with my loved ones.
  • I Join the Basketball Team

From being involved in basketball at school, I developed many skills and relationships that made the whole experience memorable. I had to work on time management, because basketball took up a lot of my time. I struggled sometimes because of that, and I eventually came out of it trying to improve my work habits. This experience also gave me new insight on doing sports and being more involved in school.
  • 1st Choir Show Performance!

I felt both excitement and nervousness. At one point, it was just an amazing experience to be performing with my peers in front of others instead of being in the seats looking at the performance. Even if I made a mistake, I knew I was not alone.
  • 5K in PE

I received a PR, getting the time of 29:30. Although it is not the fastest and a lot of people did better, I was happy with my time. It demonstrated the growth of me being a healthier and fitter person. In 7th grade, I would run miles that took 11 minutes long. This year, I am proud to say that I run 8 minute miles. I still have a lot of room for improvement though.
  • Spanish Skit Presentation

Although I have been through many presentations before, I never felt the same way as the time I presented this spanish skit. I am always nervous and have trouble presenting. This time, when I presented with my friends and just had fun, I had no trouble reciting my lines, and the teacher liked our performance. From this experience, it made me feel more confident for future presentations and to just relax and enjoy doing what I am doing.
