    Agriculture Adjustment Act (AAA) of 1933
    Aimed at boosting farm income by reducing the amount of product produced by U.S. farmers. Paid farmers to withhold some of their land from cultivation in an effort to increase the prices that would be received for the crops. In addition, farmers were given the option of receiving loans for his crops from the federal government based on the established loan rates, with the crop itself serving as collateral.

    Agricultural and Consumer Protection Act of 1973
    Food stamp program was incorporated into a farm bill for the first time. This was the first farm bill to exceed 100 pages in length, coming in at 250 pages.

    The United States Food and Agricultural Act of 1977
    First bill that included a separate agricultural research title. Authorized $260 million for Extension. Food stamps reformed, increased supports, USDA became lead agency for research, extension work and teaching.

    Agriculture and Food Act of 1981
    Authorized aquaculture extension work. Authorized rural development programs and small farm extension programs. Authorized the secretary of agriculture to conduct an annual evaluation of agricultural research, extension and teaching programs.
