Election of 1800
The election of 1800 was one of the first elections. The canidates where Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr and Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson won the first election with campaigns and became our third presidents. -
Marbury v. Madison Supreme Court Decision
The federalist were losing the control of congress so they passed a law to help them out there called the judiciary act of 1803. This allowed them to appoint several new judges who would be opposed to the incoming republican administration. When thomas jefferson found out he made madison refuse all apointments. Then Marbury went to the supreme court and had a ruling trying to take madisons position. -
Louisiana Purchase
The united states bought the entire Louisana area from the british. They bought it for 15 million dollars. That came out to about 4 cents an acre. -
Lewis & Clark reach the Pacific Ocean
One year six months and a day after they starte there journey to the north west passage they reached the Pacific Ocean. This is when they figured out that the northwest passage didnt exist. -
Treaty of Ghent
This treaty ended the war of 1812. This war was between america and britain. This greatly enhanced the relations between the two countries. -
Andrew Jackson Elected President (1st Term)
He was the beginning of the modern presidnecy. He was the president of the "common man". His election was described as a revolution. He was one of our gratests presidents ever.
