    Ly Dynasty introduces Buddhism

    Ly Dynasty introduces Buddhism
    After many years of war, and foreign countries ruling, Vietnam acquires a new government that restores peace within Vietnam. The Ly Dynasty built stable government and renamed Vietnam Dai Viet. The government influenced Buddhism on their people, which popularized the religion throughout Vietnam.

    Tay Son Rebellion
    The Tay Son Rebellion lasted from 1771 to 1802, and ended both the Le and Trinh Dynasties. Thier slogan was, " seize the property of the rich and distribute it to the poor." Thus they abolished taxes, freed prisoners, and distributed food from storehouses to prisoners. Their actions gained much support.

    The French Indochinese Union was formally established in Vietnam, in 1887. It was a federation of French colonies in Southeast Asia, part of the French colonial empire. It consisted of Cochin China, Tonkin, Annam: all which now form Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.

    In September of 1945, the Social Republic of Vietnam proclaimed its Independance. The communist Vietnamese flag has a yellow star on a red background. The Vietnamese communist flag symbolizes peace and freedom that Vietnamese around the world want to foster in our community.

    The Vietnam War, also known as the seconed Indochina War, or the Vietnam Conflict, took place in 1959 to April 30, 1975. The war was fought between the communist North Vietnam , and the government of South Vietnam which was supported by the United States and the (SEATO). Norhtern Vietnam won, and South and North Vietnam united.

    Battle of Bach Dang River
    In 939 CE, the Vietnamese defeated the Chinese rule, at the Bach Dung river. The country was renamed Dai Viet and went through a 'golden era' during the Ly and Tran Dynasties.
  • Trung Sister Rebellion

    Trung Sister Rebellion
    39 AD. The Trung Sisters (43) lead a rebellion against China. This was the first significant battle against the Chinese rule. This battle was crushed by Chinese general Ma Yuang, and their country was placed under Chinese administration for the first time.
