Dangers
Alcohol and other drugs can become very addictive as they they effect the chemicals in the brain(Pg. 6) and depending on may environmental factors play a role so people are more susceptible getting addicted to the drug and makes in easier to start using more dangerous drugs with harder side effects (Pg. 7). -
Treatment
Treatment centers are all over as they are used for treating, overcoming, and preventing drug abuse of every degree. There are many ways of getting help from hotline numbers to facilities and taking precautions to deal and prevent addiction (Pg. 8,9). -
Personal Experience
I had a friend who became addicted to drugs and was watching her life slowly start to unravel as what started out and minor drugs and use became major and hardcore drugs that were changing her and was leading to the downfall of her relationships. It wasn't until she overdosed that she went and got the treatment she needed to get back to herself.
