  • Sand Creek Massacre

     Sand Creek Massacre
    It was the most infamous incidents of the Indian war. In the 1850's gold and silver rush was in the Rocky Mountains and brought white settlers. Cheyennes and Arapahos brought it to boiling Point where they lived on the Pike's Gold Rush in 1856.
  • Fetterman Massacre

    Fetterman Massacre
    Siox a military leader, lead troops into a trap. He tricked a commander sending detachment of 80 soldiers. Hundreds wiped out and entire detachment.
  • Treaty of Fort Laramie

     Treaty of Fort Laramie
    In the 19th Century the expansion of American drive clashed with the Native Americans to resolve to presurve their lands soverentity and ways of life. 1860's through the 1870's Indian wars started in the American Frontier. The United States reconized the Black Hills.
  • Ghost Dance

    Ghost Dance
    The Ghost Dance was used so that the Sioux could express their culture that was being distroyed. Sitting Bull was their leader. Sitting Bull died because they were going to arrest him, but than they shot him.
  • 1874 Discovery

    Custer sent and army expedition to see the rumors and confirmed to see if there was gold, "from the grass roots down." It took place in the black hills. Custer, the army, and the Sioux where apart of the 1874 Discovery. Custer sent an army and the Sioux didn't like the trespassers.

    The Battle of Little Bighorn took place in Little Bighorn River. 1868 it was was treaty that was supposed to bring peace. The government promised "No white person or persons shall be permitted to settle upon or occupy." 1874 custer led army to see if the rumors that there was gold was true.

    Wounded Knee is a creek that several hundred Lakota Sioux fled to, because of sitting bill's death. December 29, 1890 an army came and took the Siouxs' weapons. 200 Sioux and 25 soldiers were killed.
