    The Military Draft (1)
    United States men were drafted to fill vacancies in the United States Armed Forces between 1940 and 1973. The draft came to an end when the US Military Forces changed to an all voluntary military force.

    The first "Jeep" was manufactured by The Bantam Motor car Company. Jeeps are one of my favorite cars and I was very excited to find out that they were extremely popular and utilized by the US Military during the 1940's.

    Rationing was a major factor that helped aid the United States in being able to maintain stability during WWII. The very first rationing book was given out to US citizens on May 4th 1942. Rationing was the artificial limits set upon goods.

    The attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii was initiated by the Japanese Military Forces. The act was one of the most impactful occurrences that influenced the United States Government to join the war.

    The Rosie the Riveter poster gained massive popularity throughout the 1940's due to it being published apart of the Saturday Evening Post. This poster helps represent the the impact women had during WWII. Women helped take over factory workplaces and were the major support of the US Armed Forces.

    The United States Military Forces invaded the beaches of Normandy, France. One hundred and sixty thousand Allied troops invaded the heavily forted coastline. By the completion of this, Allied Forces gained significant territory.

    Audrey Hepburn
    Audrey Hepburn is a famous actress known for her phenomenal work in movies and as a humanitarian. Oddly enough Hepburn grew up in Europe during this time, she began dancing and gaining interest in acting. Throughout growing up during this she faced many difficulties and sad experiences, teaching her a lot about human dignity and respect.
