    The Palmer Raids are beginning. The government is being rude to people of other whether it be race, color, or religions. This resulted in the Red Scare sweeping the nation.

    19th Amendment
    The 19th Amendment was passed. No one is aloud to be denied the right to vote. This means the 19th Amendment granted the women the right to vote.
  • Presidential Election

    Presidential Election
    Warren G. Harding, who was a Republican, won the Presidential election in 1920. He was up against James M. Cox. Harding won by 60% of popular vote and 75% of electoral vote.

    The Sacco-Vanzetti trail begins. This trial is where two Italian immigrant's were accused with murder. The two Italian's Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti eventually were found guilty of the the murder.

    First the first time ever the baseball's world series is aired on radio. It's the New York Giants against the New York Yankees. The New York Giants defeat the New York Yankees.

    Substitute teacher John Scopes from Tennessee is caught teaching about evolution. Scopes is put into the "Scopes Monkey Trial" and was found guilty. He was fined with $100.

    The KKK is a group a group of people who don't believe in anything other than their religion and if you aren't white or believe in what those people believe in than they don't like you at all. On August 8th 1925 40,000 members from the KKK marched into Washington. They were told to march with your visors raised and show your faces.

    Babe Ruth's 60th Home Run.
    The New York Yankee's were up against the Washington Senators. Babe Ruth was up to bat and he had a high record of 59 home runs and Ruth had 2 strikes and then Tom Zachary threw his ball again and Babe Ruth hit the ball and got his 60th home run. They Yankees won by 2 with a 4-2 score.

    Hoover Elected as President
    Herbert Hoover was Republican and he was up against Al Smith who was Democratic. His slogan was "A chicken in every pot, a car in every garage." Hoover's electoral votes were 4, while Smith's electoral votes were 0. Smith's popular vote was 90,404 and Smith's popular vote was 44,440.
