    Sir Robert Borden was Canada’s 8th Prime Minister and he is forever remember by Canadians for his incredible role during WW1. Sir Robert Borden led Canada to peace and justice after WW1. He constantly was doing different national things to create/earn money for our Canadian Soldiers in War. (+1)

    War Artists

    War artists went to the War field or battles and witnessed what was happening 1st hand. They would draw images and pictures that they then brought back to wives and relatives in Canada so they had a better understanding of what was going on over there. (+1)

    Start of WWI
    WWI Started July 28th 1914 and lasted 4 years long, lives were lost and sacrifices were made. Canada wasn’t in this war alone though, they had Britain there loyal alliance is what helped them push for victory’s in World War 1, like Vimy Ridge, Passchendaele and many more. (0)

    During the 2nd Battle of Ypres a man named John McCrae during the battle winessed the poppies growing free and calm out in the field even though there was a deadly world war going on. He then believed that it was a sign of the good things hiding inside bad things. John McCrae is now Canada known as the other of one of the most famous poems of all time.

    The Battle of Vimy Ridge
    From the time April 9 1917 - April 12 1917 was the battle of Vimy Ridge. These 3 days Canada battled hard many lives were sacrificed but in the end Canada still managed to take the victory. This Battle is so important to Canada as yes it was there 2nd WWI victory but this was the 1st time Canada had all 4 divisions of Canada army corps all fighting at once.(+2)

    Housewives
    Women were forced to leave the workforce when men came home from army, these women then came back home to be Housewives for there families doing the house labour and what not.(0)
  • War Time Voting Act

    War Time Voting Act
    During WWI many women were away at the work force while there husbands/soldiers were off fighting. Sir Robert Borden issued the WarTime Voting act in which allowed any relatives of soldier to vote in the upcoming election.(+2)

    The Treaty of Versailles
    World War 1 spanned 4 years long and over the 4 years there was over 8 million people killed and over 23 million injured, others suffered illnesses or diseases or permanent disorders, all of these deaths battles and wars then ended on November 11th 11:00am this is when the Treaty of Versailles was signed at last.(+2)

    This time was a time of new inventions and ideas that could change the world forever so inventions that were made were cars, electric Ice boxes and many more. These new products and innovations brought along more inventions that’s why we call this time period the Roaring Twenties.(+2)

    Women’s Rights
    During this time 1929 women were at last given the right to vote as this is the time when they were finally considered to be “persons” as to before they weren’t given that label. As of this time they are now given the right to do much more things they couldn’t before.(+2)
