    President William McKinley is reelected as president, with Theodore Roosevelt in coming in second, defeating William J. Bryan by an Electoral Margin of 292 to 155.

  • The Air Conditioner is invented

    Willis Haviland Carrier, a native of Angola, New York, invents the air conditioner. His company would air condition such buildings as Madison Square Garden, The U.S Senate, and House of Representatives.

  • Theodore Roosevelt is elected as president

    Theodore Roosevelt wins his first election for President with a 336 to 140 win in the electoral college. This was due to the death of William McKinley.
