I was born!
I was born in Augusta, Georgia at 10:30 P.M. The Olympics were being held in Munich, Germany at the time, and the entire time my mom was having me, she heard the Olympic music. Maybe it's why I'm such a sports fan! Other events that occurred that day: Billie Jean M King beat K Melville in the U.S. Open Tennis Tournament Terry Anne Meeuwsen of Winsonsin, 23, was crowned 45th Miss America -
I Learned To Read
An eventual English/Education major in college, learning to read was a BIG deal! My mom taught me to read before I even started to school and I've loved it ever since. -
My Sister Was Born
For ten years, I was an only child, and I was very good at it! The only grandchild, even, so I was pretty spoiled. Having a sister turned my life upside down, but she's the BEST and I am so glad she came along. -
High School Graduation
I graduated from Kecoughtan High School (Home of the Mighty Warriors) in the morning, and spent the afternoon and evening celebrating with my friends. I LOVED high school...played sports and graduated with honors, but graduating was fun because I knew there were many new adventures ahead in college! -
My Grandfather Died
My grandfather was my favorite person in the world, and losing him was the hardest thing I've ever done. I still miss him every day, and wish he was here. -
The Tribe Won The Pennant
I'm a HUGE sports fan, and my favorite team is the Cleveland Indians. I love them almost as much as I love my family, and one of the very best moments of my life was the day they won the American League Pennant for the first time. They beat the Seattle Mariners 4-0, and I went crazy! -
College Graduation
I actually graduated from college twice. I received my Bachelors Degree ifrom Old Dominion University in December of 1996, but since it was so close to May, I decided to wait and go through the Masters ceremony. My family threw a BIG party, I think mostly because they were finished paying my bills, but also because they were proud that I got my degree in Education and was ready to start my career as a teacher. -
My First Day Teaching
I've taught for a long time now, but I'll never forget how I felt my first day in the classroom. I taught 8th grade English, and I was SO excited to finally be doing what I studied to do for 5 years! -
My Parents Divorced
This wasn't a happy event, but it sure did change things! My mom moved to Hampton, and my dad stayed in Ohio, so from now on I split time on holidays and things like that. -
My First Day At Wythe
I started teaching at Wonderful Wythe Elementary! At the time, I was in room 107, which is now the Art room! -
Marley Was Born
I don't have kids of my own, but I don't think I could love somebody more than I do Marley. She's my best friend's little girl, and she's become one of my very favorite people and it happened the instant I met her.
