    Margaret Mahy Playground
    The Margaret Mahy Playground is the largest play project to be built in the Southern Hemisphere. Planning for the playground began in 2013 as part of Christchurch’s recovery plan, following the 2011 earthquakes. The playground opened on the 22 December 2015 and exceeded $40m.
    The playground is unique as it follows a concept of deliberate but managed risk with custom made equipment and is also one of the most intricate pour’n’play projects in the world and the first of its kind in New Zealand.

    Christchurch Adventure Park
    The Christchurch Adventure Park is the largest mountain-bike park and tourist facility in the Southern Hemisphere. Application for resource consent was submitted to the Christchurch City Council in November 2014 and approval was granted in January 2015. $24 m later, the park opened on the 16 December 2016.
    Comparable to anywhere else in the world, the Port Hills were chosen as the best location, as it is unique with its most perfect gradient of the property and close proximity to the CBD.

    Tūranga -  Christchurch Central Library
    Tūranga is the flagship for the Christchurch City Libraries network and the largest library in the Southern Hemisphere. Following the 2011 earthquakes, plans for the library were unveiled on 26 March 2015. The library opened on the 12 October 2018 at a cost of $92 million.
    The library is unique as it houses an innovation zone, for trialing new technology and a $1.245 million discovery touchscreenwall. At night the library lights up to become a lantern, which lights up the Cathedral Square.
