    Every 3 years while in your 20s and 30s and every year when you reach 40

  • Cervical Cancer Screenings - Pap Tests

    Should start pap tests 3 years after beginning vaginal intercouse and no later than age 21
    30, women with 3 or more normal Pap tests in a row can choose to be screened every 2-3 years along with a liquid-based Pap test to test for human papilloma virus (HPV)
    70, women who have had 3 or more normal Pap tests in a row can choose to no longer continue with screenings
    Total hysterectomies may constitute stopping of tests

  • Mammograms

    Mammograms - Check for breast cancer
    Start at age 40 and continue as long as a woman is in good health

  • Tests to Find Colonrectal Cancer and Polyps

    Colonrectral Cancer and Polyp Screenings at age 50:
    Flexible Sigmoidoscopy - every 5 years
    Colonoscopy - every 10 years
    Double-contrast barium enema - every 5 years
    CT colonography (virtual colonoscopy) - every 5 years

  • Tests to find Colonrectal Cancer

    These are tests to primarily check for colonrectal cancer only at age 50:
    Fecal occult blood test (gFOBT) - every year
    Fecal immunochemical test (FIT) - every year
    Stool DNA test (sDNA) - interval uncertain

  • Prostate Exam

    Begin to discuss with your doctor at age 50 about the possibility of a prostate exam. If you have a family history of prostate cancer or are African-America, you should consider talking to your doctor at age 45
